Referral loop problem.

Is this a bug in the rwhois-client-1.6.1 and that why I am seeing the
loop? Does anyone use a different client version?

When I have the punt file set up my server starts a referral loop up the
tree and then back down the tree.

Connecting to rwhois1.netriver.net:4321 
Connecting to root.rwhois.net:4321 
Connecting to rwhois.arin.net:4321 
Connecting to rwhois1.netriver.net:4321 
Connecting to root.rwhois.net:4321 
Connecting to rwhois.arin.net:4321 ...etc

The only way I have stop the loop that I have found is comment out the
entry 
rwhois://root.rwhois.net:4321/auth-area=.
In my punt file.

I have looked through the Archives and found some material on pre
1.5.9.5 code but I am running 1.5.9.5 

I am at a loss on this. Please help.
