no records found - but data files exist

we got 1.5 rwhois running on our solaris box. Most records work -  
however there is one record that exists in the data directory, shows  
up in an -xfer but does not show up when doing a rwhois query.

I understand that the rwhois query uses the index files - and a quick  
read through the index files turns up the lack of an entry for this  
particular record.

Any ideas why the record isn't being indexed? I've recreated it by  
hand and through our automated system a few times with no luck.

Records around it seem to work fine...
