I agree that operational convenience and potential (albeit probably
somewhat minor) cost savings through reuse are important factors, but they
aren't going to be the most important aspects for the Internet community
as a whole. We really don't want to make decisions based on the desires of
the operator community in particular. Otherwise, we'd just stick with
WHOIS since doing nothing is the cheapest and easiest by far.
