... so that we (Gandi) will work on providing access to data to some
of our customers using EPP. We will see what turns out.

After all, EPP stands for Extensible Provisioning Protocol 
so Registrant provisioning Objects should only be one extension as
another one ;-)

As for the reasons, I think it is probably historical, since EPP is
very young after all.

at which time EPP was not so defined as it is now.

Otherwise I agree that this WG is far further than just XMLRPC or
EPP.
